ONCE UPON A TIME A DRESS! SARA & HUGO [PREVIEW]

ONCE UPON A TIME A DRESS! SARA & HUGO [PREVIEW]

Sintra.
A magical place where a few hours before the rain filled each one of the path puddles.
The cold air, the smell of green that penetrates the skin and that is always missed.

We are from here, we go from here to everywhere always with Sintra in the eyes, in the skin, in the memory.
So many places to explore, so many nooks, a thousand and one mysteries and stories about the mountain.

ONCE UPON A TIME A BABY! MATILDE [PREVIEW]

ONCE UPON A TIME A BABY! MATILDE [PREVIEW]

Suddenly the sky.
The sky in our studio, the sky at our eyes.

Not always our sessions are exactly a sky, especially when it comes to newborns. There are babies who do not cooperate because they don't sleep, because they are bothered by anything like colics or some late tantrum or because they are already too grown up for a studio session and are more alert about life and the world.
These sessions should happen in the first days of life, we ask you to bring us the best of you around the 5th to the 7th day. After these first days the baby will be bigger, more sensitive to touch and more awake which could down to the ground every opportunity to make pictures like this.

ONCE UPON A TIME A STORY! RACHAEL [PREVIEW]

ONCE UPON A TIME A STORY! RACHAEL [PREVIEW]

Since we started this adventure, many other adventures have been crossing with ours.
Some very boldest and unbeatably exciting.

We met Rachael in an hot day, right in the heart of Lisbon.
It was May, but it looked more like August!

Rachael was ending a spectacular adventure: three months of backpacking, 22 countries and her anniversary that brought her this session as a gift.
At the eyes of someone who has seen a lot, so much, it was good to know that she would stay longer around here, if it was not the scheduled home return.

ONCE UPON A TIME A BELLY! RITA & FILIPE [PREVIEW]

ONCE UPON A TIME A BELLY! RITA & FILIPE [PREVIEW]

We like to shoot in new and different places.
If it means climbing fences, take the risk of stay closed somewhere, or be called to the attention... that's okay! As long as you are willing to take the risk with us, we do everything for the best image.

This shoot took place in a place with no risk at all, if it was not the wind that almost took us and a belly just six days before giving birth to a tiny girl, who we already had the opportunity to meet and photograph.

ONCE UPON A TIME A WEDDING! SÍLVIA & PEDRO [PREVIEW]

ONCE UPON A TIME A WEDDING! SÍLVIA & PEDRO [PREVIEW]

... sigh!
We are missing hours to days, sleep to nights, but never salt to life.
We walk in this hustle of living so many forms of love that the time to appease the wait and bestowed these pages with so many good times we have saved lacks.

We bring the image of today from saturday, the day that marked the beginning of a marathon of ten consecutive days shooting.
But although the weariness tries to take up space, that is how we breathe in, we reload our level of creativity to its peak and that we fulfill our goal of being happy.

ONCE UPON A TIME A CHRISTENING! MARIA CAROLINA

ONCE UPON A TIME A CHRISTENING! MARIA CAROLINA

It was some (long) time ago we told this story, but the more time passes the more sense these memories make.
It is impossible to forget the day that this family opened the doors of their home and the pages of its story so that we could write on them, with love and pictures, another chapter.

The brother Francisco, playing its role as the older brother, led us to meet Maria Carolina, giving a touch of his mischievous and fun nature to our report.
The day had no choice but to present itself beautiful before such a sympathy of the family and friends who gathered to celebrate the baptism and the life of little Carolina.

ONCE UPON A TIME A FAMILY! SARA & BRUNO

ONCE UPON A TIME A FAMILY! SARA & BRUNO

Everything has changed!

The saw is now full of wind and rain, the distances increased, but the ties are stronger.
There is a plane and a few hours that separate us from these smiles, there is a period of time that passed by, which we badly realized, that transformed these little baby girls into grown up girls.
But everything remained equal, special, magical, untouched in this afternoon. Because this afternoon is still there, in the same place, in your history and in our own.

ONCE UPON A TIME A CHRISTENING! VICENTE

ONCE UPON A TIME A CHRISTENING! VICENTE

Photographs bring us old moments, but also bring us back people who are far away.
Life ordained, or fate perhaps, that this family was not already so close, yet always here.

Gone are these smiles, these grown up children, this happy family... because there are always other places where happiness is accurate, where love must arrive and sometimes it goes like this, on a family format!

ONCE UPON A TIME A FAMILY! TÂNIA & FERNANDO

ONCE UPON A TIME A FAMILY! TÂNIA & FERNANDO

We always carry with us the memories of the sun, the smell of salt and the sea in the skin.
It is always easy to remember the summer afternoons, or the heat that did not fit in a day and spilled over into the night, snuggling us and leaving us almost like an homeless, due to so many hours spent on the street.

To these old memories we add today, new memories. Perhaps more happy ones, not only because they were, but because we keep them much sharper and in high definition.
I wish we had, in the time I ran barefoot spoiling sand dunes, good machines and a photographer or just an enthusiastic to register me, a professional in all that it is to be a child.

ONCE UPON A TIME A FAMILY! JOANA & BIA

ONCE UPON A TIME A FAMILY! JOANA & BIA

The work behind the scenes has been intense, but it seems that the more we have to do the more and more projects we get into and more new ideas arise. It seems that the lack of time is like a magnet that attracts more things to take even more time that we lack.
There is nothing to do, or well, there is! Take a deep breath, believe and move on.
You may have noticed that the site is completely upside down, but it was also quite clear that the change was imminent. We want to be whole in everything we do and it became clear as water that the site was already only half of us, losing, perhaps, the better half.

ONCE UPON A TIME A WEDDING! CATARINA & JOSÉ

ONCE UPON A TIME A WEDDING! CATARINA & JOSÉ

It seems like yesterday, but it wasn't!

Everyday it seems that time passes more quickly and that we look back more and more and we feel the need to keep memories and to tell stories through images. Perhaps due to the feeling that a little piece of time that has passed so quickly is frozen and safe forever, perhaps because we are forever in love with these love and passion stories that touch us. Maybe just because.

ONCE UPON A TIME A FAMILY! MAFALDA & RAFAELA

ONCE UPON A TIME A FAMILY! MAFALDA & RAFAELA

Today we remember this afternoon, these good times that we spent with these families and that are unrepeatable!

Doing family sessions with a traditional family of mother, father and children is very common. This one was a special request! M. and R. are sisters. Today some (many) kilometers separate them, but the bond between brothers is unbreakable. Here or on the moon, a brother is a brother, almost almost like a mother.
Both have built their families, with beautiful children and many adventures and stories to tell. For the session the grandmother joined us, the voice of reason in a so full, so busy, so lively and with so much fun session!

ANA ROCHA CAMPAIGN | SPRING/SUMMER 2013

ANA ROCHA CAMPAIGN | SPRING/SUMMER 2013

Once upon a time ...
...there was an enchanted place: a forest full of children, dreams and so much talent!
It was here that we photographed the Ana Rocha Campaign, last summer, and from which today we show some more pictures!
Not all, because, believe us, it would be a long post!

This campaign was a milestone in the Ana Rocha brand and was also a turning point for many good things that were to come, not just for Ana but also for the picpuffin world!

ONCE UPON A TIME A FAMILY! RITA & JOÃO

ONCE UPON A TIME A FAMILY! RITA & JOÃO

Once upon time a family of three nearly almost four!

The truth is that these gray days bring us the will to remember the sessions we did when the temperature was still high and the sun tore the sky! And this is how our session was: a hot day and blue sky, just like we had already said!

At this time, little I. still lived in the warmth of a big belly! On this side, the parents were expecting her anxiously, as well as her brother who was preparing himself diligently to be the older brother. The truth is that on this day we were less than a month away to know her and we barely knew that her arrival was so close! During the session we played over and over and the time flew. They say time flies when you're entertained doing what you love most, and it's really true, we can say it with conviction!

ONCE UPON A TIME A LOVE STORY! CATARINA & JOSÉ

ONCE UPON A TIME A LOVE STORY! CATARINA & JOSÉ

This week we are away, in the middle of the ocean!
It has been a privilege to shoot in a place so full of blue and sea, but we promise a post about it, as soon as time allow us.

Today we show you a little more of our session in Sintra, with C. and J.!
We choose to show this session this week, as a way of sending good energy since the day they both chose, to celebrate the love that unites them, is coming closer!
We are going to be with both again, documenting moments in their story, moments that an entire ocean will not prevent us from tell.

ONCE UPON A TIME A LOVE STORY! HELENA & MÁRCIO

ONCE UPON A TIME A LOVE STORY! HELENA & MÁRCIO

And here is August!

The time ran by, but they say that when it passes by so fast is a sign that we were so busy, with good things, that we didn't realize the time passing by. And it couldn't be more true, so many new families, bellies, newlyweds ... here the time really ran by fast, because we were busy with truly good things!

Remember this session?
Today we show you how was our session in Elvas.

ONCE UPON A TIME A WEDDING! ISABEL & EDUARDO

ONCE UPON A TIME A WEDDING! ISABEL & EDUARDO

Do you remember the wedding we photographed at Zambujeira do Mar?

Well, today we bring you more details of the day when I. and E. decided to celebrate their love and write on their story the beginning of a new journey together!
Since the first contact with I. we knew this was "the" wedding! All the signs that they have given us the story, the details ... were from an undeniable picpuffin wedding !
Starting with the theme: the origami! That filled the room and decorated the tables, full of symbolism and color. Then the color they chose for the day: yellow! Is there anymore picpuffin color than the yellow?

ONCE UPON A TIME A DRESS! DIANA & GONÇALO

ONCE UPON A TIME A DRESS! DIANA & GONÇALO

Hello!

Remember this session we did at Óbidos?

Today we show you how was our end of the day in the company of D. and G.
It was cold and wind on this day and walking inside the village was a true act of courage of our newlyweds! Especially for D. with her wedding dress that was asking for sun and some heat.
At the streets of Óbidos people with whom we crossed were contemplating the bride and groom and some of them wished them hapiness. Some even, in a distracted way, took the opportunity to make some photos too!

ONCE UPON A TIME A WEDDING! DIANA & GONÇALO

ONCE UPON A TIME A WEDDING! DIANA & GONÇALO

This wedding was different from the ones we did and also from the ones to come! It was the first marriage on which we didn't follow the bride and groom before the ceremony, during the preparations, but it was also the first wedding we did the "first look".
For those unaware of what the "first look" is, it is very common in the United States, for example, where the bride and groom choose an intimate and private place to see each other for the first time, on wedding dresses, before the ceremony!
And here the traditions seem to bump! If on the one hand on the other side of the ocean they see the "first look" as a way of the grooms saying goodbye while unmarried and also allows them to take a moment just before the "i do" to support and reassure each other on the step that they are about to take, in our culture it is believed that if the groom sees the wedding dress before the ceremony it will bring misfortune and bad luck to the couple!
